Plastic Blowing Machine Working Principle

The blow molding process typically includes preform feeding, heating, stretching, blow molding, cooling, and demolding. The preform is heated in an oven to bring the PET or PP material to a suitable temperature for stretching and molding. Then, the preform is fed into the blow mold, where the stretching mechanism elongates it. High-pressure air enters from the nozzle, laterally inflating the preform to conform to the mold’s inner wall, forming the bottle shape.

Components of a Blowing Machine

  • Air Compressor: A power unit that primarily expands the preform, pressing it against the mold to form the bottle shape.
  • High-Pressure Air Tank and Filter: The high-pressure tank stores compressed air and buffers against sudden fluctuations in supply pressure from the compressor. The filter removes oil mist, dust, and impurities from the compressed air to prevent contamination of the preforms and molds.
  • Refrigerated Air Dryer: This unit lowers the temperature of the compressed air to condense and remove moisture, resulting in drier high-pressure air; using dried air improves the transparency of the finished bottles.
  • Chiller: The chiller supplies circulating cooling water to the blow mold, enabling rapid cooling and shaping of the mold and the bottle.
